So I have not been sharing all the articles I’ve been doing for CBC, but I think this one’s a good one for parents to read!
“How We Plan on Raising a Money-Smart Child”

Great article! Smart tips. I really like the Share jar!

Do they pay you for your articles? Do they take articles from Bitter Americans?
LikeLike
Yes they do. And not sure if Canadian citizenship is a prerequisite. We do not like Americans stealing our jobs.

Not so fair. Why are people not paying me for my blog posts? Is it because they are jealous that they are so bad?

Lol I’m sure you could make millions if you learned from Oprah and in addition to the Bitter Network, you started a Bitter magazine too.

What, you don’t think my bitter Network is making it? And it would be a great idea to make a magazine, and putting my mug on the cover to scare people away every month.

No I think because your network is “cakin’ it” you should diversify your portfolio. It’ll be like Oprah’s “O” magazine. Except yours will be “B.O” for Bitter “O”. That’s a great name to have your mug next to.

Yes, that is a great idea. Though BM would also work. Like Bitter Magazine right?

Ya but BO is funnier. Like “You have BO”.

BO is funnier, and BM is kind of grosser. You know what BM is right? You have kids, so you should.

According to Google it means Baby Mama or Bowel Movement.

It’s Bowel Movement I was referring to, but Bitter Magazine is what Google will refer to in hundreds of years.

What a great idea! A far better way to teach budgeting.
I gave an allowance for chores that was reduced by a percentage each day they didn’t do them, and both kids had jobs at age 16 and 17, but they had to learn budgeting by experience. Their fiscal demise occurred due to one of the worst practices I’ve seen: Credit card companies offered cards to college students. Too young, ill equipped to pay back the cards, it’s too much temptation.

Oh yes that’s why they are ideal customers for credit card companies! Unfortunately you can only teach them so much as parents. Eventually they need to make their own mistakes to smarten up.

You’re correct, but it is painful to watch.

I can completely imagine. I’m not there yet with my child but I’ve experienced it with younger siblings.
